After finishing Book 1 of Centennial Observer: Bodhi after over 18 months of writing Chelsea attended a How to Publish workshop at the Library. A suggestion at the workshop to create a following before you are published was to begin blogging about the book/series. Here is a description
The strong, young heroine saves the day. We see this
story again and again in books today. However in Centennial Observer Indra Spokensun of Bhutan is not your typical
heroine. At the age of 14 Indra became disabled when she was struck by lightning
and after suffering at the hands of a diabolical doctor, an oppressive government
and the cruelty exhibited through races across the galaxy Indra is confronted
by an artificial intelligence that has gained her trust through deception and
is bent on destroying all humanoid sentient life in the galaxy. With her scarred
past will she help this AI purge the galaxy of life or will she rise up and
follow the teachings of the Buddhist monks who saved her to protect life?
Centennial Observer is a three part
series that will appeal to preteen, teen, and adults. In book one Centennial Observer: Bodhi describes Indra’s experiences on Earth beginning just before she is struck by
lightning until she joins an agency called the Avant-Garde Amalgamate. The second
book, Centennial Observer: Ten Worlds,
describes the destruction of all humanity on ten worlds as told through memories
recorded on an object kept by the last humanoid survivor on each planet. The
final book, Centennial Observer Bodhisattva
Artificer describes a battle between Indra and an artificial intelligence set
to destroy all humanity forcing Indra to choose if humanity is worth saving despite
its flaws in a thrilling climax.
We plan to use the blog to describe the backstory of supporting characters, Earth at the time the book is written, the AI homeworld, and the 10 worlds in Ten Worlds.
